Ask any dermatologist and they’ll tell you great skin starts from the inside. No matter what amazing products you get your hands on, they can only do so much if you aren’t taking care of your body. Here’s a cheat sheet of yummy foods that also help your skin along with my current skincare regimen.
Kale has tons of vitamin C which is great for your skin. Vitamin C promotes healthy collagen, keeping your skin looking bright, youthful, and plump.
Spinach is rich in vitamin B which protects your skin from free radicals. It’s also got tons of vitamin K and folate which fight acne.
Avocados contain lots of carotenoids which are great for improving your skin’s overall tone and density.
Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are loaded with antioxidants that protect our skin from the environment. They also have carotenoids to help skin tone and are proven to help skin build more collagen.
Oranges and other citrus fruits are beneficial for skin as well. They contain vitamin A to help your body fight viruses and bacteria that cause acne. Citric acid also helps rejuvenate skin.
My new focus on healthy skin from the inside out has prompted me to switch up my skin care. I’ve been using a regimen by bareMinerals and my skin is really loving it. I start with the Blemish Remedy Acne Treatment GelĂ©e Cleanser. It’s got salicylic acid, sea salt, ginger root, and peppermint which is a natural astringent. It’s a deep cleanser that removes excess oil, I have combination skin so oil-control is a big deal for me.
Next I use the SKINLONGEVITY Vital Power Infusion. It has California Poppy (known for it’s ability to thrive in harsh conditions,) Lempuyang Ginger (which has medicinal properties,) and Long Life Herb (known to help skin fight pre-mature aging.) This gives my skin a beautiful glow and extra hydration. It smells heavenly and I like how my skin feels after I apply it.
I’ve also been loving the bareMinerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream. I prefer rich moisturizers and this one is thick and hydrating. It’s made with shea butter which is hands-down one of the best skincare ingredients EVER. It’s hydrating, has a gorgeous scent, helps with skin tone, helps with fine lines, there’s nothing it can’t do.
